Nice to meet you!
Hi, I’m Kayla! I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Canine Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC), and AKC CGC Evaluator/FitDog Instructor with an absolute love for canine fitness. I am also an active dog sport enthusiast; training and competing in agility, scentwork, barn hunt, conformation, fast cat, and rally.
Canine fitness is a passion that started out of necessity. Moonshine is my first sport dog, first small dog, and first dog that suffered a major injury.
My fitness journey with Moonshine started for fun in 2018 when we started training and competing in the sport of agility. The journey went from “for fun” to a true need quickly in 2021 when Moonshine suffered a shoulder injury, and preventing further injury has been a huge part of our daily lives since then. This became even more true when Moonshine tore his CCL during an agility trial in 2023. The TPLO rehab journey was unlike anything I had ever experienced firsthand, and I was forced to learn more than ever about canine fitness, strengthening, and conditioning.
The knowledge I have gained with my own dogs, education I’ve received, and my experience working in a rehab setting leaves me with a unique skill set that allows me to tailor the fitness programs to each dog’s specific needs.
